Senior Manager / Head of Commercial Strategy

The Senior Manager/Head of Commercial Strategy is responsible for leading the medium-term planning and creating alignment between stakeholders from Marketing and Sales (CVP, Product, Communication, Go-to-market, etc.). As part of annual Budgeting and Long-range planning, the role supports the Director/VP Commercial Strategy by leading specific work streams and building an integrated plan in close collaboration with the business owners. Responsibilities also include the management of or active contribution to strategic programs / projects, as well as performance of ad-hoc analyses for the Management Board.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible within Commercial Strategy department for mid- and long-term planning with focus on financial evaluation, coordination and consolidation of all areas (e.g.: CVP, Base Management, Sales, Finance, etc.)
  • Providing regular status of commercial initiatives, evaluate and propose alternatives, including cost-benefit analysis; conducting ad hoc analyses with regards to commercial performance
  • Support of bi-annual LRP, annual budgeting, and monthly Roll exercises by leading major work streams
  • Active participation and contribution to strategic programs at company level
  • Representation of Commercial department in major strategic investment decisions or strategic programs


  • Advanced degree in Marketing/ Economics/ Finance/ Engineering or similar
  • Multi-year experience in Media/Telco sector
  • Deep knowledge of the Swiss consumer telco market
  • Advanced project management and cross-departmental project lead
  • High proficiency in working cross-functionally and in mobilizing resources outside of direct control environment
  • Conceptual and strategic mindset
  • Strong analytical/financial modelling background
  • High presentation skills
  • Ability to identify key external and internal trends which impact the commercial performance of the business as well as providing alternatives and build cases around them
  • English required, German skills highly valued
